After 18 months of disruption to face-to-face study, RLC's International Student Legal Service NSW is thrilled to be welcoming back international students to our shores!
To support the return of international students to NSW, RLC has created a welcome pack containing information and tips to help international students get the most out of their time studying in Australia.
RLC's Welcome Back guide is packed with important information on issues like employment, tenancy, and healthcare, and advice on how to access banking services and an Australian tax file number. It also includes tips on getting around by public transport, and what you need to know before driving in Australia - either with an Australian or international drivers licence.
The guide also outlines where to get free COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, and advises students on how to use their OSHC to claim back part of the cost of other medical expenses while in Australia.
The resource also features useful contact numbers, and even a guide to Aussie slang, to help decipher all those strange things that only Australians say! (Struth!)
RLC's Welcome Back guide is being made available to education providers across the state and distributed to students via RLC's International Legal Service NSW, and our funding partners and supporters. It can also be accessed below.
