This webinar covers the termination process for tenants of both private landlords and social housing tenants.
Either the tenant or the landlord can terminate the tenancy agreement. We will be explore in detail the circumstances, notice periods and process required for either party to terminate the agreement. We will make it clear for tenants at what stage of the process and in what circumstance a tenant can be removed or locked out of the property.
We will also briefly refer to what a tenant can do if the landlord acts outside of the limitations of the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 in relation to termination and locking a tenant out.
This will be practical information in plain language, designed to demystify the termination process with regards to the tenants’ rights and obligations.
The webinar will be valuable to all community workers, advocates and volunteers, in services such as financial counselling, housing services, universities and community legal centres. This webinar will be applicable to NSW only.
Presenter: Kimberley Mackenzie, Solicitor & Tenants' Advocate, RLC.
