Moratorium on evictions extended, with a transition period ending on 12 February 2022

The temporary stop on evictions for COVID-impacted renters in NSW who have lost significant income and cannot pay rent in full has been extended, with some exceptions.

RLC and Kingsford Legal Centre have jointly made submissions to the Senate Select Committee on Job Security, calling for reforms to increase access to secure employment, and ensure that all workers receive strong legal protections.

Respect at Work: Government responds to national inquiry into workplace sexual harassment

This month, the government announced it would adopt "wholly, in part, or in principle," the 55 recommendations set out in the Human Right Commission Respect@Work report investigating sexual harassment at work.
