Redfern Legal Centre’s specialist Financial Abuse practice helps victim-survivors to navigate their way out of abusive relationships. Financial burdens can act as barriers and issues like shared mobile phone accounts can make it difficult to leave abusive relationships. This webinar will provide practical guidance to caseworkers and guide their advocacy with telco companies and industry ombudsman schemes. We will explore hardship policies and other practical support which is available when disclosures of domestic violence and financial abuse have been made.
Presenter: Will Dwyer, Financial Abuse Service NSW at Redfern Legal Centre
This webinar will be of interest to community workers and volunteers in services such as financial counselling, domestic violence, women's refuges and community legal centres. The information is applicable Australia-wide. Note: The webinar focuses on financial abuse in intimate partner relationships, not elder abuse.
