RLC sees many clients who are low paid and cannot afford to hire a private solicitor in the case of their unfair dismissal from work. In response to this significant legal need, RLC and Clayton Utz have collaborated to form the Unfair Dismissal Advocacy Scheme. Seconded solicitors from Clayton Utz represent RLC's clients in unfair dismissal conciliations. The scheme has been a great success with the majority of clients getting satisfactory outcomes from the conciliation including agreements for them to return to work, compensation, and formal apologies. The Unfair Dismissal Advocacy Scheme is reflective of RLC's core aim to increase access to justice for those who cannot afford private legal advice and too often go unrepresented.
