RLC manages Sydney Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (Sydney WDVCAS), providing legal advice/assistance to 1700 women per year

In this submission, we emphasise the prevalence of pregnancy discrimination in the workplace, provide some case examples, and discuss parental leave.

RLC addresses in its submission the following topics: anti-discrimination law; general protections provisions of the FW Act; employment law; and particular disability communities.

Redfern Legal Centre has a long history of providing legal services to members of the local community who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or have a culturally and linguistically diverse background.

In this submission, we describe the prevalence and the impact of racial vilification, using a number of case examples. We recommend the retention of the existing s 18C.

RLC's submission is based on The Civil Society Report on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

RLC and the Australian Human Rights Centre welcome the consolidation of federal human rights and discrimination laws into a single Act, with greater consistency and simplicity.
