This decision from the Fair Work Commission will directly affect 2.7 million employees. Workers covered by modern awards will get an increase of at least 4.6%.
Low-income workers will now receive a minimum of $812.60 per week when pay rises take effect on 1 July. The FWC panel noted that this level of increase will protect the real value of the wages of the lowest-paid workers.
