The Economic Abuse Reference Group (EARG) makes recommendations to ensure economic abuse is a critical part of the national plan, calling for shorter and more targeted action plans with tangible outcomes.
Redfern Legal Centre coordinates the NSW chapter of EARG. Our response is focused on economic abuse based on casework experience.
We made recommendations to ensure economic abuse is a critical part of the national plan, to support integrated legal services, financial counselling, and social work in the response, to commit to reviewing and reforming areas of Government responsibility, in particular, the social security system and to ensure there are shorter and more targeted national action plans to address economic abuse with tangible outcomes.
