Three debates, conducted in Mandarin, will discuss ideas around Chinese cultural variances and generational gaps. The debates will be held at Sydney Town Hall on Monday 17 March 2014. Discussing the value and relevance of Chinese culture and practices is part of piecing together an understanding of exactly who Chinese Australians are in the present day. Part of the City of Sydney’s Living in Harmony Festival, The Great Gap Debate is the first event of its kind.
SydCSI is a collaboration of different agencies in the inner city of Sydney who provide tailored services and events for the Chinese community. The Great Gap Debate is just one of the events SydCSI works on to promote engagement for Chinese speakers with their communities and increase access to services.
