This is a policy which has the ability to influence whether or not lives are lost and it is important that that policy be updated to take account of changes in NSW, changes to technology and changes in the organisational priorities of the NSW Police Force.
It appears as though the NSW Police Force has an updated policy basically ready to go and it is sitting with the Minister for Police. We don't know what the holdup is. We know that an updated policy is needed, that it could make a difference to a police pursuit today or tomorrow and we simply do not understand why the policy hasn't been released."
