The 2014 ceremony was held in Dubbo, NSW where the state’s 19 TAAP services had come together for the program’s annual regional conference.
RLC tenant advocate Melanie Bradfield took out the award for ‘Best Performance in a Conciliation, Negotiation or Behind The Scenes Machination’, for her efforts negotiating with a wily local boarding house operator and NSW Police to avert the immediate eviction of her client.
RLC tenant advocate Lindsay Ash went home with ‘People’s Choice Award’ (i.e. the Big Award). A vote by tenant advocates from across the state saw Lindsay claim this award for her dogged efforts in defending the tenancy of a local public housing resident with a severe mental illness.
Congratulations to Melanie and Lindsay!
