Submission: In Response to the Inquiry into the Impact of Gambling

International students are more likely than other students to be problem or at-risk gamblers and are particularly vulnerable.

The RLC recommends improving the adequacy and effectiveness of existing gambling support services to better target international students, and the establishment of culturally sensitive gambling counseling services designed to reduce the associated stigma and respond to exclusion by language barriers.

We recommend that government websites have more comprehensive information and that tertiary education institutions provide problem gambling information and support.
