Submission: Redesigning "VET-FEE HELP"
RLC’s submission to the Department of Education’s “Redesigning VET FEE HELP” process called on the Government to establish a Vocational Education and Training Ombudsman.
The establishment of a Vocational Education and Training Ombudsman will aim to resolve consumer complaints about vocational training providers and the VET FEE HELP loan scheme. With this establishment, RLC is also calling for a ban on education brokers and access by marketing agents to the VET FEE-HELP loan scheme. Marketing agents working for sales commissions are inherently conflicted and this has driven widespread malpractice in the vocational training market.
