Thousands of migrant workers will be left destitute without immediate access to welfare payments during the COVID-19 crisis, warn legal organisations supporting vulnerable employees.
The COVID-19 outbreak is having disastrous impacts for Australia’s workforce and economy. While temporary stand downs, terminations and redundancies negatively impact all employees, for migrant workers in Australia these actions could lead to visa cancellation, making their circumstances extremely precarious.

Safer Pathway, the NSW Government’s innovative collaborative service delivery response to domestic violence is expanding into the inner west of Sydney.
Hon Tanya Plibersek and Hon Mark Dreyfus have today announced $1.8 million in funding for Community Legal Centres over the next 3 years, with a focus on legal services assisting victims of domestic violence.
