Wage theft is endemic in the migrant worker community. Every week Redfern Legal Centre advises multiple clients who have been underpaid their wages. Migrant workers, including backpackers and International Students, are particularly vulnerable to exploitation because of the temporary nature of their visas.
This webinar will help you to support students and backpackers in working out whether they have been underpaid and how to recover these wages.
The webinar will be valuable to all community workers, advocates and volunteers, in services such as financial counselling, migrant resource centres, universities and community legal centres.
This webinar will be applicable Australia-wide.
Presenter: Sharmilla Bargon, Employment Solicitor, RLC.
