PLT Placement (Volunteer) - Employment Law
Redfern Legal Centre is looking for an employment law practical legal trainee, optimally for 3 days a week to start in late November 2019 or early December. The position is unpaid.
Our employment law practice services disadvantaged and marginalised clients, in the Redfern geographical area, and international students from across NSW. We are also part of the new Migrant Employment Legal Service (MELS) which services the employment law needs of migrant workers across NSW. The MELS is a new and exciting joint initiative between Inner City Legal Centre, Kingsford Legal Centre, Marrickville Legal Centre and RLC. You will be working with RLC employment law solicitors, assisting on case work, law reform submissions, and policy research. You would get extensive client contact, and a high level of responsibility over case work. There may be the opportunity to undertake court advocacy or participate in conciliations.
Applicants must complete the online application form, ticking the ‘PLT - Other’ checkbox, and uploading the following documents in PDF format:
- A short letter (no more than 150 words) telling us why you are interested in the position.
- A CV, including contact details, education, experience and two or three referees (include names, addresses and contact details).
- A copy of your academic transcript.
Please address your application to Sharmilla Bargon. If you have any queries or need help lodging your online application, email RLC Communications and Volunteer Manager Finn O’Keefe at email@example.com.
